I came across the Santa Grand Signature Kuala Lumpur hotel while browsing booking.com, looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to the city center and within walking distance of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. My criteria were simple: good location, easy access, nearby restaurants, and a decent breakfast. The deal I found on booking.com was attractive, but the hotel is also available on Agoda and Trip.com.

Location & Access
The hotel is conveniently located, about a 50-minute taxi ride from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Arrival is straightforward, with a small drop off / pickup area right in front and a concierge at the entrance. Inside, the reception area is spacious and includes a lounge bar and a small grocery store, giving a good first impression.
The location works very well: around 5 minutes on foot to Bukit-Nana MRT station, and roughly 10–15 minutes walking distance to the Petronas Twin Towers and just 2 minutes walk from Jakel Square where you will find lots of restaurants and food vendors, making it a practical base for exploring the city.

Room
I booked a Bong Soo Deluxe Queen room which was not particularly large, but it was comfortable and functional. The bed is big and cozy, although space around it is somewhat limited. Amenities include an ironing board and iron, a small fridge, a safe, and a kettle with complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, and two bottles of water replenished daily.
There’s also an LCD TV and individually controlled air conditioning, which can be slightly noisy depending on the temperature setting.

My room faced the street, with a straight view from the bed of the iconic Menara Kuala Lumpur tower, and a bit further on the right side, of the famous Merdeka 118, which both look particularly impressive and beautiful at night. Across the street, there’s also a distinctive building resembling an old monastery which is in fact the Convent Bukit Nanas primary school, adding a unique touch to the view.
But even on the street side, the room was extremely quiet.

A strong point of the stay: the room was very quiet. I didn’t hear any noise during the night, and the bed was comfortable enough to ensure a good night’s sleep. Cleanliness was also spot on.
Bathroom
The bathroom is spacious and well-equipped, with a large rain shower, toilet, hairdryer and a well-lit mirror. Complimentary amenities such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, a vanity kit, and other essentials are provided.
The only downside: while two large bath towels are included, there are no smaller hand towels, which feels like a small but noticeable omission.

Breakfast / Restaurant
Breakfast is served on the third floor starting at 6:30 AM. I arrived at 7:00 AM, and it was already quite busy. Latecomers might struggle to find seating during peak hours.
This information is displayed at the reception.

The buffet offers a decent variety, cakes, a waffle and egg stations, Indian and Asian dishes, some Western options, coffee machines, drinks, and a limited selection of fruits.

I had 2 dinners at the restaurant. On the first day I chose the available buffet offered for 40 ringgit. I was quite disappointed, some of the food looked like what was served in the morning and the day after at the breakfast and the others were overcooked and a bit tasteless.
On the second day I was too tired to go out and decided to give it a second chance. This time I chose à la carte which was better than the buffet. Nothing exceptional but it was fine.
If it’s not raining and if you don’t mind going out, I recommend the Jakel Square and its surrounding restaurants which is at 2-minute walk from the hotel. There are lots of choice as well as street food vendors and it’s cheaper.
Facilities
On the 18th floor, the hotel features a pleasant rooftop pool area with a nice view. There are plenty of loungers and bean bags, free towels, water dispenser and lockers. Still, it’s a relaxing spot to unwind.

There is also a sauna and a coffee lounge from where you can order snacks and drinks but also cooldown in their aircondionned lounge.
If you want a quiet swim, go in the morning. Around noon and later, if it’s not raining, it will be too hot to stand, the dark wooden deck will burn your feet and the places in the shadow will be already taken.
The evening sounds better as not so hot but the pool will be completely crowded.
There is also a small gym equipped with bikes, treadmills, and basic weight equipment. bikes are facing the swimming pool, there is air conditioning and as the swimming pool, better to visit it in the morning if you want to train in piece.
This rooftop can be a calm and enjoyable place to spend some time depending on the time of the day.
In the lobby, opposite the reception, there is a small coffee shop offering a selection of good snacks.

There is also a Santa Grand MART, a very small grocery store accessible from inside near the reception or from outside, selling basic necessities and very convenient for guests.

Final Thoughts
The Santa Grand Signature Kuala Lumpur hotel offers excellent value for money. Its location is a major advantage, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, and the rooftop area is a nice bonus. While the restaurant could be improved, it remains acceptable considering the price point.
