Looking for a Quiet and Comfortable Stay
I was going to Singapore for a few days and, as always, I was looking for a hotel that offered comfort, a peaceful atmosphere, a good breakfast buffet, and reasonable rates.
After comparing several options on Trip.com and Booking.com, I came across M Social Hotel Singapore. The hotel had consistently excellent reviews, and after looking through the photos, I decided this would be my choice for my stay.

Location – Quiet Riverside Setting Close to Singapore’s Main Attractions
One of the biggest advantages of M Social Hotel Singapore is its location.
The hotel is situated in the trendy Robertson Quay district, directly along the Singapore River. While it isn’t located in the middle of the city’s busiest tourist areas, it’s close enough to reach them easily while offering a much quieter atmosphere.
From Changi Airport, the journey takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes by taxi, thanks to Singapore’s usually smooth traffic.
Major attractions are all within comfortable walking distance:
- Orchard Road: around 20 minutes
- Marina Bay: around 20–25 minutes
- Clarke Quay: approximately 15 minutes
- Singapore River promenade: right outside the hotel
The riverside area is particularly enjoyable. Morning and evening walks are a pleasure, with wide pedestrian paths, runners, cyclists, cafés, restaurants, and bars creating a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere.
For travellers who prefer a peaceful neighborhood rather than staying in the middle of the crowds, this location is excellent.
Check-in Experience
The lobby is spacious, modern, and welcoming.
Check-in was fast and efficient, and within only a few minutes I had my room key-card and was heading to the fifth floor.
The staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay.
There is even a currency exchange machine nearby the reception.

Room – Modern Design with Excellent Comfort
The first thing you’ll notice is the hotel’s distinctive industrial design.
Many walls throughout the corridors and inside the rooms feature exposed concrete, creating a contemporary loft-style atmosphere. Although some guests may find the design slightly cold, it certainly gives the hotel its own personality.
My room featured unusually high ceilings, making it feel much larger than its actual size.

I booked an Alcove Premier Queen Room, which included:
- Large and very comfortable double-size bed
- Four soft pillows
- Individual air conditioning
- Flat-screen TV
- Mini refrigerator
- Complimentary bottled water (replenished daily)
- Nespresso style coffee machine with complimentary capsules
- Tea and coffee facilities
- Electric kettle
- In-room safe
- Hairdryer
- Complimentary slippers
One small downside is the heavy entrance and bathroom doors. Both require more effort than expected to open.
Smart Technology
One feature that really impressed me was the hotel’s smart bedside assistant.

Similar to an Amazon Alexa device, it allows guests to control various hotel services by voice or touchscreen.
From this device you can:
- Order room service
- Browse hotel information
- Discover nearby attractions
- Check the weather
- Set alarms
- Access hotel services
It’s a nice modern touch that adds convenience to the overall experience.
Bathroom – Spacious and Accessible
The bathroom is exceptionally spacious and thoughtfully designed.
It includes:
- Large walk-in rainfall shower
- Grab rails beside the toilet
- Accessibility support handles
- Large sink area
- High-quality complimentary toiletries
The amenities provided include:
- Toothbrush set
- Shaving kit
- Cotton buds
- Vanity kit
- Shower cap

Everything was spotless and well maintained throughout my stay.
Swimming Pool & Gym
The outdoor swimming pool is located on the fifth floor.
Although it’s relatively small, it’s perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Singapore.
Guests will also appreciate:
- Comfortable sun loungers
- Complimentary towels
- Chilled drinking water
- Ice-cube machine

Next to the pool is a small fitness room equipped with:
- Two modern treadmills with touchscreen displays
- Cross trainer
- Bicyle
- Multi-function weight machine
- Selection of dumbbells
More than sufficient for maintaining your workout routine while travelling.
Breakfast at Beast & Butterfly
Breakfast is served at Beast & Butterfly, the hotel’s restaurant located beside the lobby.

The buffet isn’t massive, but it offers an excellent selection of quality food.
Highlights include:
- Fresh tropical fruit
- Freshly prepared eggs
- Croissants
- Pain au chocolat
- Fresh bread
- Pastries
- Coffee machine
- Fruit juice station
- European breakfast dishes
- Small selection of Asian cuisine
Everything was fresh, regularly replenished, and well presented.

Wi-Fi
One of the pleasant surprises during my stay was the excellent complimentary Wi-Fi.
Internet access is available throughout the entire hotel, including the guest rooms, lobby, restaurant, pool area, and fitness centre.
The connection remained fast, stable, and reliable during my stay, making it ideal for streaming videos, video calls, remote work, or simply browsing the internet.
Overall Comfort
Overall, I found the room very comfortable.
The excellent bed quality, modern facilities, and peaceful surroundings made it easy to relax after a busy day.
The only minor negatives were:
- Slightly cold atmosphere created by the exposed concrete walls.
- Hallway noise can occasionally be heard inside the room.
- The room view wasn’t particularly interesting, overlooking mainly the surrounding trees.
None of these points significantly affected my stay.
Final Verdict – Is M Social Singapore Worth It?
Absolutely.
M Social Hotel Singapore successfully combines modern design, quality facilities, comfortable rooms, excellent service, and a peaceful riverside location.

Although it isn’t located directly in Marina Bay or on Orchard Road, the quieter surroundings were actually one of my favourite aspects of the hotel. At the same time, Singapore’s major attractions remain easily accessible on foot or by public transport.
The fast complimentary Wi-Fi, comfortable bedding, relaxing swimming pool, well-equipped gym, quality breakfast, and convenient location near Robertson Quay make this hotel an excellent choice for both business and leisure travellers.
