Hôtel Omnubo Collection – The Perfect Stay for a Visit to Puy du Fou

If you are planning a visit to Puy du Fou in Vendée, I can highly recommend the Hôtel Omnubo Collection. After booking a two-day visit at Puy du Fou, I was looking for a comfortable hotel close to the park, at a reasonable price, with a good breakfast. I found the Hôtel Omnubo Collection on booking.com, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
Puy du Fou is one of the most renowned theme and show parks in Europe, and I would highly recommend visiting it. For our two-day visit, the location of the hotel was ideal: the Hôtel Omnubo Collection is approximately 3 km from Puy du Fou, less than five minutes by car. It is very easy to reach, located alongside a main road, and offers a secure 24-hour free car park, which is extremely convenient when returning late after a full day at the park.
A warm welcome and excellent facilities
We arrived quite late in the evening, but check-in was effortless. The reception is staffed 24 hours a day, which is a real advantage, especially when visiting Puy du Fou and returning late. The reception staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The hotel itself is modern, stylish and appears very recent. The design is contemporary and artistic, giving the whole property a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The reception area also includes a large lounge with sofas, a small foosball table and even a popcorn machine with free popcorn, a fun little touch that makes the hotel feel welcoming and family-friendly.
Comfortable and very quiet room
Our room was on the first floor and was easily accessible by elevator. Although it was not particularly large, it was spotlessly clean, modern and very comfortable.
The bed was excellent, with four very comfortable pillows, and we slept extremely well. Despite the hotel being close to a main road, the room was surprisingly quiet. We heard virtually no traffic noise during our stay.
The room also included individual air conditioning, a TV with access to Canal+, a Nespresso coffee machine with two capsules provided each day, a small safe and two bottles of water that were replenished daily.
Free and fast WiFi was also available in the whole hotel area..
As a lovely welcome gesture, we also received two macarons on our first day.
The bathroom was modern and practical, with a very pleasant rain shower and toiletries provided.
I also noticed that some of the rooms have their own terraces, which would be an additional bonus for a longer stay.
A five-star breakfast
The breakfast deserves a special mention. I would give it five stars.
It’s served at the restaurant, just near the reception. We didn’t have time to try the restaurant but the menu looked promising.
The breakfast is a very generous buffet with a great variety of fresh and regional products. There was everything from croissants, pastries and traditional Vendée brioche to jams, honey, fruit juices, yogurts, cheeses, smoked salmon and omelettes, as well as coffees, teas and hot chocolate.
There is genuinely something for everyone, whether you prefer a sweet or savoury breakfast. It was the perfect way to start a long day at Puy du Fou.
Very practical picnic baskets for Puy du Fou
Another excellent idea is the hotel’s 12€ picnic basket, especially if you are spending the day at Puy du Fou.
The basket includes a bottle of water, a small packet of crisps, a ham-and-cheese or salmon sandwich, and a cookie.
This is extremely practical because it means you don’t have to queue for food inside the park. It can also help you save money, as food and drinks at Puy du Fou are naturally more expensive.
For anyone planning a full day at the park, I would definitely recommend taking advantage of this service.
Spa and fitness area
The hotel also has a spa on the ground floor, offering various treatments, as well as a small fitness room with a few machines, free water bottles and clean towels. It is not a large gym, but it is more than enough if you want to get a little exercise during your stay.
Overall experience
Overall, we had a really excellent stay at the Hôtel Omnubo Collection.
The location is perfect for visiting Puy du Fou, the hotel is modern and comfortable, the rooms are clean and quiet, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful.
For the quality and location, I think it offers very good value for money.
I would definitely stay here again if I return to Puy du Fou, and I would happily recommend the Hôtel Omnubo Collection to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel for a visit to the park.
